We will announce the results of the first IoT use case recruitment for small and medium manufacturing. This case of adoption is planned to be posted in “IoT use case map“.
– General review
About 40 cases gathered by public recruitment of cases. Perhaps this dozens of useful cases will be born at the site of manufacturing in Japan. Many awareness can be obtained from these cases. Above all, the site of manufacturing in Japan is that kaizen focusing on 5s was tackled, and that accumulation leads to reform of management. Therefore, it is not the purpose of gathering data with sensors, but you can see that visualization narrows down considerable wisdom that is only conceived from the field. It will only be thought from the scene, such as “visualization of the breath of the mold”. Also, the fact that there are many cases of monitoring and management from a remote place not only symbolizes the fact that the site of manufacturing and the site of management are apart from one another, we are also looking at providing useful data to customers who are ahead. It is exactly the turn of IoT. There are not a few people saying that no extension will be reformed even if you do kaizen. However, without the sense of the site it is impossible for customers to be able to provide the products + information they need.
And the boundary between the manufacturing industry and the IT industry becomes ambiguous, and the fusion of monozukuri and information making progresses. This is exactly the fourth industrial revolution itself. The data obtained from IoT is best to be used on the scene, for management, and for customers. Business is not a bargain. It is to provide products and information that customers will be pleased with. I feel strongly from these cases that IoT supports it.
